S.W. Farber, worked as a tinsmith since 1900. He eventually founded the Farberware company and in 1930 created the first coffee percolator. Among other small kitchen appliances produced over the years, in 1954 he created the electric frypan with a removable probe allowing the fry pan to be immersed in water for cleaning. Today the company boasts many small kitchen appliances as well as other cookware and kitchen utensils.
