The Braun Company has a long, successful history. Originating as a shop in 1921 by Max Braun in Frankfurt Germany, his company was known for producing components for radios. By 1929 he began creating radio sets and soon became one of Germany's largest manufacturer of them. In 1932 the company had successfully combined the radio and record player into one set, and in 1935 the Braun brand and logo were born.
Notable achievements are the introduction of the first electric shaver, the S 50, introduced in 1950 and the presentation of the first new Hi-Fi system in 1959. By 1981 Braun was proudly known as the leading manufacturer of small electrical appliances.
